About the Benevolent Buddhist Temple

Benevolent Buddhist Temple is located in Brooklyn, New York, USA. It is a non-profit religious institution approved by the US government. Currently it has branches in Atlanta, Flushing, and Taipei. 

The temple abides by the teachings of the Nanwu Sakyamuni Buddha, practices and teaches the dharma expounded by H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. 

In order to promote the Tathagata Dharma, Buddhist disciples at Benevolent Buddhist Temple cultivate themselves in strict accordance with the orthodox Buddha-dharma as contained in the Tripitaka (the sutras or discourses, the monastic discipline, and the commentaries or treatises) as well as the esoteric scriptures. The temple respectfully upholds the rules laid down by Sakyamuni Buddha and teaches living beings in accordance with the 84,000 dharma methods handed down by Sakyamuni Buddha. 

The Abbot of the temple led the disciples to study the listed recorded discourses of the buddha dharma, held throughout the Buddha Dharma Assembly, the Guan Yin Great Compassionate Empowerment Dharma Assembly, and legal Worm/Fish releases Ceremony.  

The temple also commemorates the death of people and animals, benefit all sentient beings with great compassion and bodhicitta. Pray for the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the Dragon Heaven Protector can be merciful and bless all living beings have boundless blessings and wisdom.

THE ABBOT OF BENEVOLENT BUDDHIST TEMPLE

The Abbot of Benevolent Buddhist Temple, Master Shi Chi Chuang, who was the Ambassador of the Republic of Vanuatu to the United Nations in New York for many years.  In 2016, when he received another appointment from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Grenada as the Ambassador to the United Nations in New York, he decided to give up this honor, devoted himself to Buddhism and became a monk. In September 2016, Abbot Shi Chi Chuang was ordained in accordance with the dome of Buddhist rituals became a monastic in the Wan Yuan Temple in Taiwan.  

In December 2016, he successfully completed to take ordination at Fo Guang Shan Monastery. 

In 1998, Abbot Shi Chi Chuang met the H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III as his teacher. Since then, he has been relying on the Buddha more than 20 years. Before he became the Buddhist monk Shi Chi Chuang, his original religious name was Karma Derge Gongla Rinpoche, he received the holy water initiation and the Vajra wheel initiation by the H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. During the practice, there are many incredible phenomena and make him generated great power blessed by Buddha. 

In 2009, Abbot Shi Chi Chuang (then Karma Derge Gongla Rinpoche) expressed his gratitude to the general public to suffer from various eye diseases and vision deterioration, he declared the "Sutra of Eliminating Eye Obstacles" by H. H. Dorje Chang Buddha III to benefit of all living beings. 

Over the years, the Abbot has traveled all over the world for the cause of Buddhism. He is now based in New York and Atlanta, and is active in promoting the cause of Buddhism in Asia and Europe..
